But the thing is, spending the rest of my life without him doesn’t even feel like a choice.
“Holden sweet talked his way down here,” Harrison replies with an eye roll. “I swear, some people must think he’s got gold shoved up his ass, they want him to reconsider not declaring so bad.”
Phoenix told me about their plan to move back to Nashville after graduation—Holden working as an intern for his Dad’s label, and him working at some fancy marketing firm—and
“With the 77th pick in this year’s NFL Draft, the Nashville Nighthawks select… Kason Fuller. Tight End, Leighton University.”
and the occasional ass slap, mostly from Holden,
I’m going back to Nashville and competing at the professional level for a team I grew up watching.

You can have whatever it is, baby. Just say the word and it’s yours.” He shakes his head. “I already have everything I want, as long as you come with me.”
“I love you so fucking much, Hayes. I’m sorry I didn’t tell you before. It felt too selfish to say it and leave. But, I do. I love you.” His emerald eyes dark and pleading as they stare straight into my soul, his words barely more than a whisper. “And if I’m certain of anything, it’s that I’m a better person for having been loved by you.”
