Lore’s eyes widened. Spend all day in a library? One probably filled with fae relics, history, medical, and alchemical texts? One that nobody had set foot into for millennia? Lore pinched her leg to make sure she wasn’t dreaming.
Lore thought of all the books she’d read again and again. Some of them she could almost recite word for word. Rereading a favorite book was like coming home after a long time away.
“I’ve heard what she does to those she collects. If she hurt you, tell me. You’re mine to protect.”
With Asher it was never confusing. She needed someone who would be open with her. She didn’t want to question where she stood when it came to how someone felt about her.
“Mouse, if you keep untucking my shirt, I’m going to do very bad things to you.”
