“I can’t wait to unravel you.”
“They’re perfect, Rosie. Please don’t ever try to convince yourself any part of you isn’t just right, because to me, it’s everything. You. Are. Everything.”
“You are the strongest, kindest, most beautiful person I’ve ever known. How could I not appreciate you?” He lies down, pulling me against him, his face in my neck. “I’ve been dying to do this since our first kiss. Think it’s gonna be the best sleep I’ve ever had, and I’ll never let you go again.” I don’t think I want him to, because as sleep threatens to pull me under, lulling me toward a peace I haven’t known in ages, there’s one thing I know with certainty. This is how you fall in love.
I’m glad I can give her something she’s been missing, something she so desperately craves and so wildly deserves. Because I know, in her, I’ve found something I’d given up on. I’ve found love.
“I want you, Rosie. I want all of you. And there is no other choice.”
“You’re not my first choice, Rosie. You’re the only goddamn option.”
“I’m gonna marry you someday, after all. Batman always gets the girl.”
It’s about having you. It’s about knowing you’re my partner, not just a warm body at my side. It’s the good morning texts and showing up at the bus stop because it’s raining. “I love you, Adam. For everything you are.”
“I fell for you that first day, you know. Out there taking care of a dog you didn’t have an obligation to. Scared to give up control, to put your trust in anyone else, but willing to do it anyway and for a man you’d just met. Those eyes that smiled first, before anything else. And Jesus, Rosie, I just kept falling. That’s all I did, every damn day, fall further, harder, until there was nowhere left for me to go.”
“The second I saw you with that little boy, I knew my heart was yours. You’re everything I was looking for. Kind and gentle, with so much love to give. Someone who works for the life they want and won’t give up without a fight. You’ve been through so much, Rosie. So damn much, and not once have you turned around and walked away. Even when I thought you might. When I prayed you wouldn’t. When I was fucking terrified you’d give up on me. You stayed, Rosie. And you chose me. Because of you, I know what it’s like to be seen, to have every single piece of me loved. I know because you do it every

“That’s why I love you, Rosie. I love you, and I’ve been loving you for a long time.”
Adam smiles, a stunning, magnificent sight, the tremor in his touch disappearing as he slips my hand into his. “You’ve been my best friend and my partner through all of this.” He slips the exquisite ring on my finger, the teardrop diamond the same rosy shade as my hair. “Now I want you to be my wife.”
“With you, I found my gravity. That’s worth so much more than my chaos.”
