Behind her fear and anxiety, like so many other people, Alice longed for certainty: a need to feel safe, secure, and in control. She just wanted to know that everything would be all right, and QAnon promised her it would be. The Great Awakening was her beautiful mirage; it was as real to her as water on the desert horizon to a thirsty traveler.
