If having access to TV, not working manually and being able to afford labour saving devices were the cause of obesity, there would be a positive correlation between income/socio-economic group and obesity. The richer the person or family, the more inactive and obese they would be. In fact the exact opposite is true. There is a strong correlation between low income and high obesity.
