This biography was eye-opening because it focused on a woman living in the earliest decades of settlement of United States. It's surprising to find out how much religion underscored much of the life of early settlers in this country. And women were not tolerated to have opinions that oppose their church elders. Anne Hutchinson was respected in religious groups because she was knowledgeable and passionate about religious issues, but she faced much censure from males that she did not know her place as a woman. I recommend this book for those who enjoy learning about women who helped to shape our past.
