In the fundamentalist framework, decision-making is a matter of discerning God’s will, to the point of looking for God’s blueprint for your life. The only clear desire that you are really permitted to have is to love God and do His bidding, as in “Not my will, but thine be done” (Mark 14:36). This can be quite a relief.
