The Florida-based company DNAPrint Genomics developed a technology called DNA Witness for use by law enforcement officers to determine “genetic heritage” from DNA samples left at a crime scene.2 DNA is typically used by the police to match a crime scene specimen to the genetic profile of a known suspect.
