“Sustainable” is an economic but also an environmental term. The fundamental flaw in “sustainable development” is that it typically sees the Earth only as resource.

Humans are a paradox on Earth, both a part of nature and apart from nature.

The connecting fibers in a human brain, extended, would wrap around the Earth forty times.

Humans are remarkable in their capacities to process thoughts, ideas, symbolic abstractions figured into interpretive gestalts with which the world is understood and life is oriented.
