To cement his power, he began building his own empire of loyalists–many of them from South Asia, including his old Wharton friend Krishen Sud. The hires were so blatant that at one point George Needham confronted him. Rajaratnam rattled off the names of the employees on Needham’s trading desk. Most were Jewish.
