Something about this man tells me he doesn’t write his name on his luggage. He probably just narrows his eyes at his suitcase, daring it to get lost.
“Make me happy, Angel.” I glance back up, finding his blue eyes locked on mine. “Let me feed you. Eat your treat.”
He narrows his eyes. “Keep teasin’ me, see where it gets you.” Pretty please, let it be pinned to his bed.
My face is on fire. It’s melted off. I have no face anymore. Which will make witness protection easy. Because clearly, I need to change my name and disappear.
“Valentine, I enjoy being around you. I enjoy talking to you. And being in close proximity isn’t going to change that.” He reaches out to grip my thigh. “But if a time comes that we aren’t able to make things work, I won’t ever leave you to fend for yourself. This is a partnership, and whether you love me or hate me, I’ll always protect you.”
“Maybe I didn’t make myself clear when I tattooed your name across my fucking throat. This”—I tap the letters—“is so everyone knows who I belong to.” I’ve never given someone this sort of claim over me, and it feels fantastic. “And inking the last words of my vow to you above my fucking dick.” I reach down and cup my hand over the front of my pants. “That’s all for you, Angel. So when you’re ready to wrap those lips around my cock and take me into your throat, you’ll be eye level with my promise to you. Even on your knees, I’ll still be yours.”
I don’t hesitate. I just reach in and take out the three rectangular sheets of pills. This is how I keep her. And how I give her everything she craves. I open the drawer where I know she keeps hers and replace the two backup sheets with two from my hand, and then I pick up the one she’s currently using and pop out a matching number of pills on the last sheet from my safe.
The house is in a shitty part of a shitty suburb and looks just like the flophouse it is. Neighbors in a place like this mind their own fucking business. Which is perfect, because we’re about to do some business.
