Here is what this white gentleman doesn't understand, women and people of color ARE ignored when they go to the emergency department. I passed out cold in the waiting room at U of M, waiting hours to be seen. They didn't care that I had a very serious problem. Personally, I have had 2 life threatening conditions and was told both times that I was crazy and quit bothering doctors. This author has never experienced that.
