I personally was told I had moderate depression and really I had Celiac disease. It is genetic. However, it is much easier for a doctor to write a script for anti depressants than really figuring out what is wrong. I was also told I had a Functional Neurological disorder, the doctors thought I was crazy. I actually needed heart surgery and had low blood pressure. I'm not alone. Many women are misdiagnosed.
