Conservatism: The tendency to revise one’s belief insufficiently when presented with new evidence. Example: Gert believes in the Loch Ness Monster. Gert is shown how every photo and story used as “proof” has been discredited. Gert is now less convinced, but still has an unreasonably strong belief.
