Lost Horizon, once the hero had experienced Shangri-La, although he returned to the world again, he viewed it in a totally different way. He longed, at any cost, to return to Shangri-La where the state of peace prevailed. Once the experience of peace has occurred, we are no longer a victim of the world. We are no longer at its effect as we once were, for we have had a glimpse of the truth about it and of what we really are. With continual surrender, we begin to experience these states of peace with ever-increasing frequency.
