If we really understand who God is and that we're in His presence, we will be on our faces before Him, giving Him the honor and the praise that He deserves.
He freely came to do the Father's will and to submit Himself to the law for our sake. He, and He alone, is a profitable servant.
We must be careful with that phrase "according to." It does not mean that our works earn a reward. But God in His grace will distribute rewards according to our service-even though our works don't deserve it.
We may be "unprofitable," but that doesn't mean we're to be unproductive.

Service is a sacred call to every Christian.
Yet the Bible clearly commands Christians to give and to practice good stewardship.
The point I'm stressing to our congregation is that giving should be an act of worship.
Every time we use a resource, we make a decision, and that decision reveals what kind of stewards we are.
Each one of us has been placed on this planet by God to glorify, honor, and serve Him with what we produce and how we live. A wasted life is a tragedy.
God challenged the Israelites to be faithful, promising that He would open the windows of heaven and pour out blessings upon them.
We need to remember that God tells us, "The laborer is worthy of his wages" (1 Tim. 5:18b).
This generation of Christians must invest in the things of God for the sake of the next generation.
If you return to God what He asks of you, then you can enjoy the rest as long as you use it wisely.
We don't start seeking after God until He finds us.
I don't see where God invites people to come to Christ. Rather, God commands people to come.
We believe the supper really is a sign and a seal, given for our edification. It's vital and rich to our spiritual growth.
