Though nations exist, a nation is not an entity that exists separately, apart from its citizens and its territory. Some claim (7) A nation just is these citizens and this territory. Others claim (8) A nation is an entity that is distinct from its citizens and its territory.
It is amazing how memetics makes such statements completely obsolete. They miss the point competely from the perspective of memetics.
