The question isn’t, are we willing to die for Christ? The question is, are we willing to live a life of risk for Him? Being willing to fail and fail big in the arena of living out a lifestyle of risky evangelism frees us from fear and sets us up to do the impossible. Are we willing to look foolish for Jesus?

We get so caught up in wondering what God’s will is, but we’ve already been given a pretty tall order in Scripture—God wills for His Son, Jesus, to live out His life through us. He’s given us the Holy Spirit, He’s given us power and He’s given us authority to carry on in Christ’s ministry of reconciliation, proclaiming and demonstrating the Kingdom of God and destroying the works of Satan. It’s open season, and every one of us was licensed when we received the Holy Spirit.

He had been standing on a ladder with a noose around his neck, about to take the final jump to end his life, when his phone rang. It was a former strip dancer who had just started plugging in to our home groups. She had been brought by a lesbian who one night hired her services, but then felt convicted before following through and brought her to church instead.

The thing is to press in, and to keep pressing in and pressing up. Keep seeking His presence. Seek His presence when no one’s watching. Let it infect every part of who you are—in the character choices you make,
