Doesn't this go against the idea of moving knights before bishops? This seems like a poor example showing just the opposite??
A bishop (or knight) and king cannot checkmate a lone king no matter how hard you try.
understand the reasoning behind the principle, you will have no trouble understanding why White is better, even though it is his knight pair that does the job usually accorded the bishop pair.
If you're trying to illustrate that the bishop pair is usually superior to the knight pair, why show an example that disproves this rule?
