The Seat of the Soul: An Inspiring Vision of Humanity's Spiritual Destiny

The decisions that you make and the actions that you take upon the Earth are the means by which you evolve. At each moment you choose the intentions that will shape your experiences and those things upon which you will focus your attention. These choices affect your evolutionary process. This is so for each person. If you choose unconsciously, you evolve unconsciously. If you choose consciously, you evolve consciously.

When we judge, we create negative karma. Judgment is a function of the personality. When we say of another soul, “She is worthy,” or, “He is not worthy,” we create negative karma. When we say of an action, “This is right,” or, “That is wrong,” we create negative karma.

Compassion is being moved to and by acts of the heart, to and by the energy of love. If you strike without compassion against the darkness, you yourself enter the darkness.

a wife tells her husband that she must attend a business meeting, although she would like to be with him, and if her husband is unable to trust, he may take her meaning as a rejection, or as a signal that her work is more important to her than he is. This misunderstanding results from his inability to accept what his wife has told him, from his inability to trust her. As the wife continually experiences her husband’s misunderstandings, they generate within her feelings of surprise, sorrow, frustration, anger, resentment, and, eventually, the rejection that her husband mistakenly perceived. Thus the husband, through the dynamic of distrust, creates his most significant fear.

A nation is an aspect of the personality of Gaia, the Earth’s soul, which, itself, is developing its personality and soulhood. The group dynamic that is the United States is a personality aspect of Gaia, as is the group dynamic that is Canada and the group dynamic that is Greenland, and the group dynamic that is each nation. The individual human souls that participate in the evolution of these aspects of Gaia form these group energy dynamics and, at the same time, their own developments are served by the karmic energy properties of these nations. Consider the United States, for example, as simply one unit of energy that is evolving with a particular consciousness. The individual souls that pass through this collective consciousness expand it, create actions, create thought forms, create causes and effects, and that is how it accumulates karma. The relationship of these souls to their nation is like that of cells to a body. Your consciousness affects every cell in your body, and every cell in your body affects your consciousness. There is a mutuality. Each individual in the collective consciousness that is called the United States can be thought of as a cell in that nation, in dialogue.

Forgiveness means that you do not carry the baggage of an experience. When you choose not to forgive, the experience that you do not forgive sticks with you. When you choose not to forgive, it is like agreeing to wear dark, gruesome sunglasses that distort everything, and it is you who are forced every day to look at Life through those contaminated lenses because you have chosen to keep them.

Do you ever feel, or suspect, that you have gifts to give, and you want to know what they are?

Have you ever felt that you are more than you thought you were—for example, more than a mind and a body?

Set your intention every day for the next week to find meaning for you personally in your everyday experiences. Open yourself to seeing meaning that you did not see before and recognizing your insights as valuable experiences of multisensory perception.

How do you feel about the possibility of consciously creating blissful experiences for yourself and for other personalities of your soul? Imagine how you could do this. Write all that comes to you and go back to it frequently. Choose what experiences you intend to bring into your life.

Reverence is seeing beyond the outer shell of appearance to the essence within it. Reverence is connecting with the true power and essence of what a person is or what a thing is. It is a holy perception. It is recognizing personalities as Earth suits and shifting your attention away from the Earth suit to what is wearing it. That is the soul. Reverence is accepting that all Life is, in and of itself, sacred. Without reverence we become cruel and destructive and create painful karma for ourselves.

How often do you judge the people around you because of their skin color, appearance, clothing, beliefs, actions, and possessions? (Sometimes this question is difficult to answer because the parts of your personality that judge others are so familiar to you that their judgments don’t seem like judgments. They seem like the way things actually are. So take at least a day to observe how often you judge others or yourself and write down your judgments as you notice them.)

YOUR EMOTIONS ARE very important. You cannot grow spiritually without becoming aware of them. This turns the view of emotions that most of us hold upside down. We think that emotions serve no useful purpose. Like an appendix, they can be very painful, and nothing is lost by having an appendix removed. A wonderful treasure is lost when you are removed from your emotions. Your emotions are messages from your soul that bring you priceless information.

Creating authentic power means making the healthiest choice you can in the moment—the choice that may stretch you and will always empower you. For example, the choice not to eat something you know your body does not need; not to shout when you are angry; not to complain when you need to blame; not to gossip when you can hardly wait to talk about someone; to say no when someone asks you to do something that you know is not healthy for you to do, etc.
