In order for men to become indignant or to admire, they must be conscious of their own freedom and the freedom of others. Thus, everything occurs within each man and in the collective tactics as if men were free.
If we say of a man he is good or evil, we have to acknowledge his ability to choose to be so. If we say of a collective group of men that they are good or evil, we are acjnowledging the ability of man to be an individual while being a part of a collective.
