It has also been shown to help maintain weight loss in animals.5 Exercise may be of benefit by helping keep the fat switch from being turned on, as chronic exercise has been shown to lower uric acid levels and to improve mitochondrial function, and even to stimulate the regeneration of mitochondria, which is called mitochondria biogenesis.
