Just as opening my eyes to the pitcher enhanced my success at the plate, opening my eyes to the world improved my life. My meditative work at the tee was the initial vehicle by which I’d begun to know myself, and to realize that I wasn’t an actor playing the role of Shawn Green, baseball player. Now, I was in touch with my deeper, true essence, which before had been lost in mind and emotion.
