Near the end of the Old Testament, the Prophet Zechariah says that when God’s day comes, there will be no distinction between sacred and profane, temple and marketplace: Even the horse bells will be inscribed with the word “sacred,” and in the Temple of Yahweh the very cooking pots will be as fine as the sprinkling bowls at the altar (see 14:20).
