Snow is seen in its greatest beauty only when it covers the earth. Like a soft halo, snow blankets the earth removing from our sight all earthy things so that we see only white. In places like New York, and Chicago, it is not uncommon for people to be “snowed in”. The warrior is aware of self’s attempt to bring out worldliness in him. He sees self trying to cast him into the mud of sin. In studying the snow, we may learn that God desires us to use snow against self. That is, self must be blanketed, snowed in by the gentle righteousness of Christ so that nothing earthly may be seen in us, only
