It is through conflict, not peace, that wealth and power are gained.
Proof is an irrelevance. People would far rather be handed an easy lie than search for a difficult truth, especially if it suits their own purposes.
‘It ain’t ever as simple, is it, as a man is just good or bad?
‘No, it ain’t ever that simple. We all got our reasons. Good men and bad men. It’s all a matter of where you stand.’
Trust. It was a word that only liars used. A word the truthful had no need of.
What good does blame do? We all do what we have to. I gave up looking for reasons a long time ago.’
