San Francisco was suffering a simultaneous case of the AIDS jitters. The day after the Post’s classic grandmother headline, two AIDS sufferers were scheduled to be part of an “A.M. San Francisco” segment whose goal was to “demystify” AIDS and calm the fears. However, the two patients couldn’t appear on the show because studio technicians refused to mike them.
