The more one ascends, the easier it becomes. Since ascent is a relational term denoting our communion with Christ, we could say that the more we glory in God the happier we become. At first, we are more fleshly than not, but as we commune with God more and more we find it easier to rely on him for everything. This does not mean that we move beyond our sin or our flesh.
