Images of glory and beauty can, at times, feel mechanical or feel like they are simply aspects of power—like the sun giving its rays. But these images serve a higher end. Talking about God is talking about God’s personal nature. To know God as glorious, one must know and love God personally. To know God as beautiful, one must know God and love him personally.
