It’s not that I’m prone to violence, but you should never underestimate the power of a dead-end customer service job.
I’ve seen twenties pocketed by teens who just want to save up for a video game. An usher who stole hundreds of dollars from various lost wallets, just to buy his prom date a corsage.
But I just smile. That’s what I do at the theater. A smile is a shield. Thousands of people all day long at work, smiling. No one deserves to see what’s underneath the smile, what’s behind the teeth.

Yes, it’s possible to pay attention to something and ignore it at the same time.

When you live only your childhood and teenage years with your parents, you grow to hate them for all the wrong reasons, grow to love them for all the wrong reasons.
You hate them because they say no. You love them because they buy you things.

How can you time travel when, like, Earth is not only rotating around a sun, but the sun is also moving around the galaxy, and the galaxy around the universe. Earth’s never in the same place in the universe, is it?”

When you’re at work, any smile you make can be a lie.

Customer service has made me an excellent liar.
