The town no longer exists, but it’s where, in July 1917, approximately 1,300 striking mine workers were dumped without food or water after being forced on a train at gunpoint in Bisbee, Arizona. The “Bisbee Deportation,” as it became known, was the largest mass kidnapping in U.S. history.
