The only hope for the world is for laborers to go to them with the gospel of salvation, and having won them to the Savior, not to leave them, but to work with them faithfully, patiently, painstakingly, until they become fruitful Christians savoring the world about them with the Redeemer’s love.
The test of any work of evangelism thus is not what is seen at the moment, or in the conference report, but in the effectiveness with which the work continues in the next generation.
Suffice it to say that the early church proved that the Master’s plan for world conquest worked.
This is the new evangelism we need. It is not better methods, but better men and women who know their Redeemer from personal experience—men and women who see his vision and feel his passion for the world—men and women who are willing to be nothing so that he might be everything— men and women who want only for Christ to produce his life in and through them according to his own good pleasure.
What is the plan of your life? Everyone has to live by some plan. The plan is the organizing principle around which the aim of life is carried out. We may not be conscious of the plan in every action, or even know that we have a plan, but nonetheless our actions invariably unfold some kind of a pattern at the center of things.
The Master gives us an outline to follow, but he expects us to work out the details according to local circumstances and traditions.
A person unwilling to fail in the determination to find some way to get the job done will never get started, nor will the one afraid to try and try again make much progress.
Jesus’ life would teach us that finding and training people to reach people must have priority. The multitudes cannot know the gospel unless they have a living witness.
keep the focus on Jesus. He commands through the Spirit and the Word. In subjection to him, disciple and discipler alike learn at his feet.
The times that we come apart from the world are not a release from the conflict, but only a strategic maneuver to gain more strength for the attack.
Every inch of progress will have to be won by conquest, for the enemy will never surrender. Nothing less than the infilling of the Spirit of Christ will be sufficient to meet the challenge.
our emphasis must be on quality of life. If we get the right quality of leadership, the rest will follow; if we do not get it, the rest have nothing worth following.
We are not living primarily for the present. Our satisfaction is in knowing that in generations to come our witness for Christ will still be bearing fruit through them in an everwideningcycle of reproduction to the ends of the earth and unto the end of time.
