Damien hated very deeply. But, his love went even deeper.
The Vampire Isle looked more like St. Thomas than Transylvania.
She’d always been the kind of girl who preferred horror movies to fairytales. Who voted for the monster over the white knight and for the bad guy to get away in the end.
Inside, there was a long hallway filled with atmospheric dripping sounds and flickering torches attached to the stone walls. Because, –sure– everybody left unattended torches burning 24/7 in their dungeon. How else could you find your secret exits?
“Do you see why I didn’t want to marry him? I mean, the nerve to think he could compare to you or be worthy of me!” “Thank the Gods you found me, my gentle pearl. The human is a narcissist.”
Maybe Tanya was writing this whole book while high.
Damien closed his eyes in relief. He’d found her and she was safe. It was a miracle. Now, he was going to kill her.

Did your cari run off to fight Vampires, without even a wave good-bye?” Damien tried to sound sarcastic, but it was hard to be suitably pissed-off when she smelled so good. He removed his cloaking spell so she could at least tell when he glowered at her. “Because that kind of abandonment would just be a nightmare, I’ll bet.”
Damien really would prefer death to a life without her in it. She was the only thing in the world that gave him peace.
“‘Romeo, thou art totally a villain.’”
“You think I’m going to barter for henchmen with sexual favors?”
“There’s no way I can get rid of you is there?” “Many have tried. None have succeeded.”
“You truly are a Witch, Kara Lynn. It’s the only way to explain what you do to me.”
“Your future world has weapons that can do such things?” Kara snorted. “Are you kidding? My world has weapons that can blow-up the planet ten times over with munitions to spare.” Damien hesitated as if waiting to see if she was teasing him. He frowned when Kara just raised her eyebrows “duh” style. “Then, you will not go back to such a time period, without me to protect you from these weapons.”
I have had the best time of my life in this stupid book. Zombies and shape shifters and dragons and all of it. All of it, Damien. Because I was with you.”
