Six Reasons for a Literal Approach There are at least six good reasons for adopting a literal interpretation of Scripture (including prophecy). 1. It is the normal way to understand all languages. 2. The greater part of the Bible makes sense when taken literally. 3. This approach will allow for a secondary (allegorical) meaning when demanded by the context. 4.
