The Time Keeper

And on this early page of man’s story, one different child can change the world.

Yet all around you, timekeeping is ignored. Birds are not late. A dog does not check its watch. Deer do not fret over passing birthdays.

And, because of this, man alone suffers a paralyzing fear that no other creature endures. A fear of time running out.

He would call it Alli’s moment, and he would think of her each day at that juncture.

But each of them, in a way, was still waiting on the man; Lorraine to admit he was wrong, Sarah to have him rescue her.

She did this every night, and like most small demonstrations of love, it had a large impact.

She clutched that sentence like a souvenir. Hey, what’s up?

that holding on to things “will only break your heart.”

But man invents nothing God did not create first.

He was doing what man does when left with nothing. He was telling himself his own life story.

“Find two souls on earth, one who wants too much time and one who wants too little. Teach them what you have learned.”

“Remember this always: There is a reason God limits man’s days.”

a desperate heart will seduce the mind.

Sometimes, when you are not getting the love you want, giving makes you think you will.

But a man who can take anything will find most things unsatisfying.

He did not know that the child who had asked for yesterday was now seeking to own tomorrow.

A heart weighs more when it splits in two;

But common sense has no place in first love and never has.

And when hope is gone, time is punishment.

But hurting ourselves to inflict pain on others is just another cry to be loved.

only when he saw the hut made of reeds, did he slow his pace, as man does when he approaches what he desires, uncertain if it can possibly be all he hoped.
