Why would Paul care if everybody’s getting along or not? The primary reason is this: he knows that a divided church is a terrible witness. Where people see in a church anger, dissention, inability to reconcile, and the holding of grudges, they do not see Christ as beautiful. So that would be the biggest reason. But where Paul goes next is rather curious.
