The liturgical sacrifice of the Church has at once a mystical and a cosmic significance. The communion of the faithful in the Body and Blood of the Saviour not only really joins them to Him in a sacramentally mystical union but also unites them to one another in Christian charity and in the Holy Spirit. In signifying this union, the sacrifice also produces, by Christ’s grace, what it signifies.
