In the previous chapters we were considering arguments for God, and so it was the believer who had to bear the burden of proof. But now it’s the atheist’s turn. We’re considering arguments for atheism. We want to hear from the atheist some arguments against God. So now it’s the atheist who must shoulder the burden of proof.
