And what of longer processes, such as the sun ripening a tomato, the Second World War, or a young baby growing into an old man? What of the history of the entire universe from start to finish? These events and processes certainly seem to be a part of reality. We don’t want to deny they exist. They are a real feature of our world. But if we talk just about the particulars and their properties, it seems that we omit them.
