“Sorry about him!” Smiley twin yells across the yard. “He gets nervous around beautiful women.”
My grudge against him does not beat my love of chocolate.
I’m so glad I ran away to the South and not someplace like Michigan. I’d never leave my house with all that snow.
“Did you enjoy the show?”
“I have no business being around people,”
“Oh, hey! It’s the cute blonde neighbor I told y’all about,”
“But Adrian is walking around with a face identically as gorgeous as mine and not even going on a date or two. It’s a crime against womankind.”
For the first time in a while, I’m unhappy a conversation I was a part of was interrupted.
“I believe your exact words after seeing him shirtless were: I want to marry him and have his perfect babies.”
“Oh, you seriously want to hang out?” He whoops, the sound piercing my eardrum. “This day just got so much better. Are you on your way?”
“I’m not marrying Juliette.”
“Aw, cheer up Sunshine, tonight will be fun.”
“Running is like dying but without the relief of death.”
“Aw, Sunshine, you shouldn’t have.” I take the paper bag from him with a smile. He shrugs. “I thought it would make you smile.”
“I do not need to know how to leverage a guy’s weight to body slam him.
“I’m just wondering why your cute neighbor is sitting at the bar on Valentine’s Day instead of with you.”
“I feel like every time I’ve seen her she’s running away,” Levi–unhelpfully–comments. “Do you think it's us?”
“It’s not so much me telling them about you as it is them being nosey.”
“Did you just call him Sunshine?” Grayson asks. A wicked grin takes over his expression. “Oh, I’m so using that.”
“I’m here for you. Whatever you need, I’ll be it.” You’re not her.
As I’m closing the door I hear Levi say, “Please never use the word pizzazz ever again.”
“If anyone asks, we’re married.”
“I’m sorry,” I choke out, swiping tears away. “I-I’m just a little overwhelmed that they would do all this for me.” “Why wouldn’t we? You’re a part of the family,” Grayson says
I briefly wonder if she’s the type to steal blankets. I suppose I’ll find out by morning.
“I saw your cologne in your bathroom. I’m going to buy it.” “Yeah?” I trace circles on her back, making her shiver. “What are you going to do with it?” “Spray it on my pillowcases.”
I told him I was going to buy his cologne and spray it on my pillowcases. What is wrong with me? If I blame it on my concussion, will he believe me?
Sleep? I don’t know her.
“She’s basically a racoon. She stays up late, eats junk food, and causes trouble. You sure you want her?”
I was concerned that you were in the hospital and not telling anyone.” I roll my eyes at him. “I did that one time. It was just my appendix bursting, not even a big deal.”
If you get cold feet, I look just like him and I actually talk to my family.” Grayson winks.
Grayson: Yeah, don’t sweat it. She can’t say no to a face like y(ours). Levi: Grayson, why do you make everything about the fact that you’re twins? Grayson: It’s a twin thing, you wouldn’t get
