Love affairs should always begin in small, unspectacular rooms.
You would not be the same person after your visit. You would be changed forever. That was the promise of The New York World's Fair. And it was a promise kept for Emily Fields and Paige McCullers, but not as the Fathers of the Fair had anticipated.
Love for Alison was more of a commodity. Something like money, in that the more you had of it the better off you were. But it was just money; you might like the things it bought you, but you didn’t like the stuff itself. That would be gross.
