34 Ye cannot say, when ye are brought to that awful crisis, that I will repent, that I will return to my God. Nay, ye cannot say this;

for that same spirit which doth possess your bodies at the time that ye go out of this life, that same spirit will have power to possess your body in that eternal world.

Today is the time to change one's heart. Vastation in the next life is painful beyond degree.

humble yourselves even to the dust, and worship God, in whatsoever place ye may be in, in spirit and in truth; and that ye live in thanksgiving daily, for the many mercies and blessings which he doth bestow upon you.

Are the words in this book garbage as one of my friends says? He says he read this book. Did he?

be watchful unto prayer continually, that ye may not be led away by the temptations of the devil, that he may not overpower you, that ye may not become his subjects at the last day;

Watchful includes feeding the soul along with prayer.

The human predicament... a continuous cycle...

1 My son, give ear to my words; for I swear unto you, that inasmuch as ye shall keep the commandments of God ye shall prosper in the land.

For some that may just be quality time and fulfilment with family and not just finacial.

2 I would that ye should do as I have done, in remembering the captivity of our fathers; for they were in bondage, and none could deliver them except it was the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob; and he surely did deliver them in their afflictions.

Do family history to learn about and remember their trials and how they came to know God

I do know that whosoever shall put their trust in God shall be supported in their trials, and their troubles, and their afflictions, and shall be lifted up at the last day.

Knowing just when that last day is will help... I suppose nothing more than another 50 years. how things have been I am ready now.

seek no more to destroy the church of God—I was struck with such great fear and amazement lest perhaps I should be destroyed, that I fell to the earth and I did hear no more. 12 But I was racked with eternal torment, for my soul was harrowed up to the greatest degree and racked with all my sins. 13 Yea, I did remember all my sins and iniquities, for which I was tormented with the pains of hell; yea, I saw that I had rebelled against my God, and that I had not kept his holy commandments.

The state of those who hate the truth of Jesus Christ and fight it and try to destroy it

did rack my soul with inexpressible horror.

There is no horror on earth can ever come close.

And oh, what joy, and what marvelous light I did behold; yea, my soul was filled with joy as exceeding as was my pain!

Thank God for the choice, option and ability for us all to accept and use this least understood gift

I have always retained in remembrance their captivity; yea, and ye also ought to retain in remembrance, as I have done, their captivity.

How important it is to know our family history...

6 Now ye may suppose that this is foolishness in me; but behold I say unto you, that by small and simple things are great things brought to pass; and small means in many instances doth confound the wise.

Many examples im my life. Daily scripture study is one of so many.

wisdom in God that these things should be preserved; for behold, they have enlarged the memory of this people, yea, and convinced many of the error of their ways, and brought them to the knowledge of their God unto the salvation of their souls.

10 And who knoweth but what they will be the means of bringing many thousands of them, yea, and also many thousands of our stiffnecked brethren, the Nephites, who are now hardening their hearts in sin and iniquities, to the knowledge of their Redeemer?

E. Swedenborg said Christ came to an earth that would record and publish the Atonement.

What are these? List in order;

he promised unto them that he would preserve these things for a wise purpose in him, that he might show forth his power unto future generations.

be diligent in keeping the commandments of God as they are written.

Some suggest Gazelem is a named used to reference Joseph Smith.

but to be meek and lowly in heart; for such shall find rest to their souls.

cry unto God for all thy support; yea, let all thy doings be unto the Lord, and whithersoever thou goest let it be in the Lord; yea, let all thy thoughts be directed unto the Lord; yea, let the affections of thy heart be placed upon the Lord forever.

in the morning let thy heart be full of thanks unto God; and if ye do these things, ye shall be lifted up at the last day.

I have somewhat to say concerning the thing which our fathers call a ball, or director—or our fathers called it Liahona, which is, being interpreted, a compass; and the Lord prepared it. 39 And behold, there cannot any man work after the manner of so curious a workmanship. And behold, it was prepared to show unto our fathers the course which they should travel in the wilderness.

The path to salvation and eternal bliss is easy. See Alma 37:38-46 a comforting reassurance.

it did work for them according to their faith in God; therefore, if they had faith to believe that God could cause that those spindles should point the way they should go, behold, it was done; therefore they had this miracle, and also many other miracles wrought by the power of God, day by day.

They were slothful, and forgot to exercise their faith and diligence and then those marvelous works ceased, and they did not progress in their journey; 42 Therefore, they tarried in the wilderness, or did not travel a direct course, and were afflicted with hunger and thirst, because of their transgressions. 43 And now, my son, I would that ye should understand that these things are not without a shadow;

Forgeting the important, very important small easy stuff, like scripture study for only a few minutes or an hour each day.

Daily searching in the scriptures learnig the words of Christ accepting His path and following Him.

it is as easy to give heed to the word of Christ, which will point to you a straight course to eternal bliss, as it was for our fathers to give heed to this compass, which would point unto them a straight course to the promised land.

Alma 37:44

shall the words of Christ, if we follow their course, carry us beyond this vale of sorrow into a far better land of promise.

This book and other scriptures, the Holy Bible, prophets and revelation is our compass or Liahona

The gospel is easy if you just look.

How can one be so sure and steadfast?

remember, that as much as ye shall put your trust in God even so much ye shall be delivered out of your trials, and your troubles, and your afflictions, and ye shall be lifted up at the last day.

I have become so depressed that I am not able to write Pichmonyroth Nen more because it conflicts with marriage. I must put faith in this passage.

Our hearts can be robbed by those to whom they do not belong

5 Know ye not, my son, that these things are an abomination in the sight of the Lord; yea, most abominable above all sins save it be the shedding of innocent blood or denying the Holy Ghost?

Giving your heart to the wrong person or letting it be robbed...

Oh, remember, and take it upon you, and cross yourself in these things.

'Eye candy', much of it deadly spiritually, is everywhere; more than any other time in history.
