When we focus in on one part of the syndrome, we are at risk of overlooking another, quite different part. For example, if we focus in on inattentiveness, we can overlook the fact that most people with ADD can hyperfocus at times. Or if we focus in on hyperactivity, we can overlook the many people with ADD who are quiet and daydreamy. It is difficult to step back and see that all of these aspects are part of a greater whole.
