Acknowledge the importance of learning. Because a project is as much about generating new knowledge as it is about adding new capabilities to a product, plans must be updated to include this new knowledge. As we learn more about our customers’ needs, new features are added to the project. As we learn more about the technologies we are using or about how well we are working as a team, we adjust expectations about our rate of progress and our desired approach.
