The Psalms themselves indicate that the human beings who sing them are actually being changed by doing so. Their very innermost selves—which include their physical selves—are being transformed. How can such a thing be? This is perhaps one of the hardest things for people today to grasp, but once we allow the Psalms (along with the rest of scripture) to shape our worldview, there is no reason not to see the point.
