“Oh man, Cameron is in trouble. I can’t wait to watch him fall,” he muses as he shoves his arms into his jacket. “Fall?” I ask, my eyebrows furrowed in confusion as Finn’s body retreats. Turning around, his head twists over his shoulder, and he says, “In love with you.”
My brain screams one word so clearly and dominantly that I can’t ignore it. Beautiful. She’s fucking beautiful, and I can’t deny it, as much as I want to.
I want to take care of Aurora Vallacourt, and once I start, there’s no stopping.
He’s making my girl uncomfortable for whatever reason, and to hell if I’m going to let it continue.
“C’mon, Rory, open your pretty eyes for me.”
“Your future wife is going to be so lucky,”
Little does she know I’ve imagined her as mine more times than I’d like to admit.
I stiffly nod as my heart screams at me, loud and clear. I like her. I really fucking like her. And not as a friend. It’s more than that. So. Much. More.
“Then why do you look scared, love?” I ask her, noticing how the name of endearment flowed off my tongue so easily.
It’s with a deep breath and a smile that I think, fuck it.
Cameron pulls back, the both of us breathless and panting. “I want to taste more of you,” he breathes, licking his lips.
“I wanted to try and take this slow, but I don’t know if I can, love. Not after I’ve got my first taste. I want more.”
“I don’t want this to just be a hookup. I want to be yours, all and only yours.”
I lift up, then lay on my back. “Get on top, love. Take me for a ride.”
I see something I love, I think to myself, and the thought doesn’t scare me.
“I love it, and I love you so fucking much, Rory. You’re all I can think of, from when I wake up to when I go to sleep. No one and nothing has ever consumed me the way that you do. ”
“Rory, you’re not hearing me. There’s nothing that could take me away from you. Where you go, I go. My job can be remote. I want to cheer you on along the way and watch with pride as they place a gold medal around your neck in two years. And with even more pride when I place something gold around your finger one day.”
