My work style was direct by Automattic standards. I've always demanded that my bosses explain things I don't understand. I want to be taught, not told. I don't mind being proven wrong or trumped provided I learn something, but I did not follow decrees well. This makes me an excellent or frustrating person to have working for you depending on how often you like to explain yourself, as Mullenweg discovered in our occasionally long debates.
