I've been rewatching Mob Psycho 100 and reading the manga for the first time, so of course this essay reminded me of Reigen. This quote especially—I see Reigen's strengths, and his growth through the series, captured here. Lie healingly. Lie for others' advantage, and not our own. This is, I think, what he's trying to tell ??? in their confrontation when he says his lying brought them together. Everyone lies (a thing House would also agree with); what you're doing with those lies is what matters.
