I wanted a new label. One that said: girlfriend who will do anything to be tied, spanked, and fucked all over rather than adored.
“Never lie. The truth hurts less than fibs and fakers.”
But that didn’t matter, because the other part—the new part—was fierce. This girl had no brokenness or issues. She was a warrior who’d seen blood, stared monsters in the face, and knew without a doubt her life would be hers again.
“Enfermer la dans la bibliothèque. Retirez le téléphone et l'ordinateur portable. Vous avez compris?”
“Don’t stop living while you endure. And don’t let the pain of your past stop you from being happy in this new life.”
“C'est quoi ce bordel, qu’est ce qu’elle fait ici?” Q snapped, glaring at Suzette, shoulders rippling with temper. Suzette bowed her head. “Je suis désolée, maître.”
Two things I wanted most in the world: for Q to die a miserable death, and for him to fuck me.
Q was no longer the devil. He was my master and I belonged to him.
Q dropped his gaze to my lips. “Je suis à toi.” Something feral heated his features; he pressed his mouth against mine in one fast kiss. “It means, I am yours.”
“Monsters find each other in the dark.” I couldn’t read his tone, and I didn’t like the implication. Am I a monster? Compared to Brax most definitely, but Q… there were limits he crossed that I never could. Had we found each other in the darkness?
His breathing settled, low and even; I pulled away. He was asleep. The moment I moved, fingers tightened on my wrist. “Snow. Snow. You’re named after winter… my favourite season.” I froze. He spoke with no holds barred. Voice clearer, but still loose with booze. “Why do you like winter?” I whispered, so afraid he would comatose before answering. “The season where everything dies, but is reborn better than ever.” His eyes flared, and wedged himself upright on elbows, wincing. “That’s what I do, you know. I’m winter.”
“Tu ne peux pas être á moi, mais je deviens á toi.”
“You may not be mine, but I’m fast becoming yours.” Time froze.
“I don’t care for Tessie either. You’re mine. My Tess.”
“I promise to protect you, ravage you, hunt those who hurt you, and give you the life you deserve. My fortune is yours. My secrets are yours. And I will give you the corpses of the men who hurt you.”
