I dozed off again at half-past V only to be awakened by the birds chirping the arrival of the sun. I had always been led to believe this was an idyllic, melodious sound, but this sounded more like a full-scale, Nazi air raid.
“We cannot see the design because we are a part of it,”
What could possibly go wrong?”
“All the diary entries and dismissals in the world cannot change the truth. Galileo recanted under threat of torture, but that did not make the sun revolve round the earth. If you dismiss me, the vase will still be vulgar, I will still be right, and your taste will still be plebeian, no matter what you write in your diary.”
Well, it definitely wasn’t Nazi England. And the Pandemic had still happened.
